Spartacus Megaways

SG Digital has revived Spartacus for this Megaways slot. Originally the hero of the studio’s Spartacus: Gladiator of Rome online slot, he’s now ready to take on the might of Rome in a monster Megaways slot that features up to one million ways to win!

The grid has a total of 7 reels, 6 vertical ones which can land between 2 and 10 symbols on each spin, and a four position horizontal reel at the bottom of the grid.  

The low-paying symbols are Romanized 9-A card ranks. The premiums are all the attractions of the Colosseum, weapons of war in the form of axes, swords, and helmets, as well as a tiger, and a gladiator. The most valuable symbol is the game's logo.  

Payouts are a little on the low side, with the highest possible win for a combo of six at only 25 x the bet. But, the 1 million possible ways to win more than make up for this. The betting range is from 0.20 to 20.  

The Wild is Spartacus himself, wielding his sword and looking positively wild. He'll stand in for all the regular symbols to help form wins. And, unusually for a Megaways, he can land on the main 6-reel grid but not the extra horizontal row.  

And the Colosseum acts as the Scatter. This can appear anywhere on the grid, and four in view will trigger the Free Spins round. 

The first feature in Spartacus Megaways is one that's become pretty standard in Megaways games lately. I’m talking about the Cascading Reels, which removes all winning symbols from the reels so others can tumble down to fill the empty spaces. This can result in multiple wins on one spin. Each cascade that results in a win raises the win multiplier by + 1, but this resets between spins in the base game. 

In the base game, wins also trigger another feature. On every spin, a random number of positions are covered by a red curtain. Every successful cascade draws the curtain up to uncover one position, increasing the number of ways to win and the player's chances for the next cascade.  

Once the Free Spins have been triggered by four Colosseum Scatters, but before they start, the player gets to spin a Wheel. This will award anything between 6 and 16 Free Spins. It will also decide how many positions will be covered by the curtain. The curtain will remain fixed in place for the entire Free Spins round. 

The big boost to win potential in the Free Spins comes from the Wild. Spartacus will expand to cover the entire reel whenever he lands. And if three more Colosseum Scatters land on one spin, the round is retriggered with the same amount of spins and curtain position as before. 

SG Digital have made full use of the Megaways mechanic in this slot. And the rising and falling curtain is a nice touch, gradually increasing the player’s chances with every win in the base game.
