Primal Megaways

Primal Megaways is a prehistoric slot by Blueprint Gaming. And by that, I mean the theme is Prehistoric, not that this slot game is something you might see on the Flintstones, with stone reels, etc.

Far from it, the game makes use of the Megaways mechanic, Wild multipliers and other features to give the player an exciting modern gaming experience. 

Like most Megaways slot machines, this game has six reels with an ever-changing number of symbols landing on each. But Blueprint hasn't pushed the mechanic to its limits by a long shot, and the maximum number of active paylines on one spin is 46,656. 

Apart from the low-paying card ranks from 10 to Ace, the reels are inhabited by a number of bad-tempered prehistoric animals, with the Woolly Mammoth being the most valuable, giving 50 x the bet for a combination of six. The betting range is from 0.20 to 10.00.

A caveman’s bonfire is the Mystery symbol, which can land on the reels at any time and plays a part in one of the bonus features. 

A paw print, possibly of the sabre-toothed tiger, is the Wild. This only lands on reels 2 to 6. In the base game, it will substitute for all regular symbols to help form winning combinations, and during the Free Spins, it also does more. 

The woolly mammoth skull is the Scatter symbol. 3 or more will trigger the Free Spins. 

The first of the bonuses is the Mystery symbol. This can land during any spin, usually in clusters, and when it does, all the Mystery symbols on the reels transform into the same randomly chosen regular symbol, giving the player an extra chance to form some winning combinations. 

The skull Scatter triggers the Free Spins when three or more land. During Free Spins, Wilds come with win multipliers attached. The possible values of the multipliers and the number of spins in the round depend on the number of triggering Scatters as follows: 

3 Scatters - 10 Free Spins with Wild multipliers of x2 and x3.

4 Scatters - 15 Free Spins with Wild multipliers of x2, x3 or x4.

5 Scatters - 20 Free Spins with Wild multipliers of x2, x3, x4 or x5.

6 Scatters - 30 Free Spins with Wild multipliers of x2, x3, x4, x5 or x6.

The Wild win multipliers boost the win potential of the round significantly, and when more than one is involved in a win, they multiply each other! The Free Spins can also be retriggered without limit, with more spins being added to the total remaining every time two or more Scatters land. And if all that isn't enough, all players who trigger the Free Spins are guaranteed a payout of 10 x the bet. If the round ends with less than this in winnings, it automatically retriggers. 

Primal Megaways might not have the highest number of paylines we’ve ever seen on a Megaways game. But it still has plenty of win potential, especially when the Free Spins with their Wild multipliers kick in.
